The nutrients in food


Today's lesson is about NUTRITION. Have you ever wondered why we eat and drink?. 


We eat and drink because our body needs the nutrients that food contain to live and grow. Different food contains different nutrients. 

There are five types of nutrients: CARBOHYDRATES, FATS, PROTEINS, VITAMINS AND MINERALS

✅ Carbohydrates give us energy to run, study or ride a bike. 

Fats build a store of extra energy for when we need. Don't eat too many or you will become unhealthy and overweight !!! 

Proteins help us grow. 

Vitamins and minerals help us to stay healthy. 

  Water is very important! More than half our body is water!
