Mixtures and How to Separate Them

A pure substance consists of only one component. For example:

👆WATER

👆WOOD

A mixture happens when we put two or more substances together. For example:

👆YOU CAN MIX A YOGURT WITH SUGAR,
SOME FRUITS AND CEREALS

📌There are two types of mixtures: heterogeneous mixtures and homogeneous mixtures. 👇

Watch this video to learn more 👀 :

We can SEPARATE mixtures by three techniques: EVAPORATION, FILTRATION AND USING A MAGNET.                                     👇

Forces in Matter

Forces can act from a distance o through contact. When they act from a distance they are called non-contact forces. When they come into contact with the object they are called contact forces.

NON-CONTACT FORCES

Magnetism is a force that can attract or repel mangetic objetcs. Let's watch the following video.

Gravity is a non-contact force that pulls objects towards  each other.

CONTACT FORCES

📌 There are two different contact forces: Applied force and Buoyant force.

📌When an object is put in a liquid there is an upward force acting on it called buoyancy. This is what makes objects float.

Changes in Matter

Matter can change in many ways. These changes are classified into two types: Physical changes and Chemical changes.

PHYSICAL CHANGES

In a physical change no new substance is formed and properties of the substance stay the same.

CHEMICAL CHANGES

In a chemical change a new substance or substances form.

Andy Warhol and Pop Art

 Hi artists!

This is Andy Warhol!👇

He is on of the most famous artists, ever. He is an art legend. He was part of the pop art movement and he is famous for exploring POPULAR CULTURE in his work. Popular culture is anything form Coca Cola to pop stars to the clothes people like to wear.

Watch this video to find out what is POP ART.

Physical properties of matter

Matter is everything that exists. Al living things and non-living things are made of matter.

But, let's learn more things about MATTER watching the following videos:

Matter can be different sizes (large, small, ....), different shapes (round, square...) and different colours (red, grey, green...) .
Matter can be different in other ways too. 👇
